Paula Smyton
I have lived in Suffolk for over 15 years and have two children attending Woodbridge Primary School. I enjoy all aspects of living in Woodbridge, particularly forest and riverside walks. My background is in Primary Education and I am in my third year as a Parent Governor. I am an active and committed governor, and enjoy supporting staff and pupils in school events and activities. I am also Chair of the Curriculum Committee and a member of the Personnel Committee. I am very proud to be a Parent Governor and look forward to Woodbridge Primary School’s future success and achievements.

I am a parent governor with two children at the school. I have been involved with the school for over three years now, helping out regularly in the Foundation Unit and with the
I am in my sixteenth year as a governor. Although now appointed by the LEA, I was a parent governor for eight of those years and have been chair of governors since 1996. Before that I was secretary for the PTA.
As a governor, it has been a privilege to participate in virtually every aspect of school life, from the exciting to the necessary: children’s activities, school trips including Derbyshire, helping in the classroom or at special events as well as being involved with appointing staff, monitoring the budget or writing policies, to name a few.. I have lived in Melton since 1989, now with just my two youngest daughters. All four of my children enjoyed attending Woodbridge Primary, going on to do well at Farlingaye High and beyond. I work part-time at
Woodbridge Primary is still the warm, happy and caring school that I chose for my children and I hope that I can continue to be part of this special community for the foreseeable future.

I have two children at the school: one in Year 2 and the other in the Foundation stage. As a regular helper both in class and with the PTA I have an active and committed interest in the school. I became a governor as I was keen to take this interest further. I studied languages at university and prior to having children worked in the wine trade. I believe Woodbridge Primary is an excellent school and am looking forward to playing a part in building on its achievements.

I left school at the age of sixteen, having successfully obtained a BT apprenticeship. This gave me the opportunity to continue my education at
My current job in BT has me looking after all of BT’s contact centre technologies, and making sure that whenever customers phone BT they are connected through to an advisor that can handle their enquiry.
I hold a Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award, and am keen that this type of experience is given to as many young people as possible during their teenage years.
I am a member of St. Andrew’s PCC.
