The curriculum for Foundation children is planned to enable children to attain standards appropriate to five-year-old children. There is a separate booklet, available from the Foundation teacher, which gives more detail about the work of the Foundation unit. In Lower and Upper School we follow the national curriculum for all subjects and the Suffolk Agreed Syllabus for religious education. All teachers use a balance of whole class teaching, as well as working with small groups and individuals. Children are grouped as appropriate to the task in hand. At times this may be by ability and at other times by pupil choice or random grouping. The aim is always to enable teachers to teach and children to learn in an efficient manner. |
